Have a girl having trouble doing a project
Then have another girl introducing the design cycle to her so she can understand it more.
the place is at the girls bedroom and the girl explaining it is imaginary

idea#3
Having a teacher explain what the design cycle is to a group of 6th graders
being in a clasroom

Reflection.

I  would rate myself  a 4 or 5. I do describe the problem and mention its relevance. I compare and contrast both websites and state the differences between them. I explain how I investigated the problem  and analyse  the information from the acknowledged sources . I think I deserve a 4 because I could of written more , but I think I have it well deserved , specificly because I  explained the differences and the similarities and both websites' functions but not in long, long  sentence way.

Design Brief

10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
- After comparing animoto.com and goanimate.com , I decided to make a fun interesting  video in which it would help a 6th grader understand what the design cycle is, so I decided to choose Goanimate.com.

11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
- to make a 6th grader understand what the design cycle is.
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
-I have to make it as interesting  as possible and as informative as it can be.
13. How will you "test" your project?
-by asking several classmates of mine to rate my video.

Investigation Comparison

Simplicity- In  goanimate.com I found that it is a very efficient  and simple way of understanding how to make a video, a cartoon video. This website really helps you by showing you  step by step in how to make the video. It has certain themes and a lot of character choice and even helps you design your own character. That is why I rated it  a 4 . Because I think it would be really interesting and fun way  for the 6th graders to learn. In animoto it somewhat helps you but not really. In animoto it is also simple not as efficient  in helping you step by step , so it is not really entertaining for a 6th grader. Animoto.com is basically just how to make a slideshow, on just pictures, so I don't really know how to make a slideshow of pictures interesting for a sixth grader. So it doesn't have character choice, and doesn't have a variety  of tools  to help me make a video interesting, fun, and helpful for the 6th graders.

Themes- In goanimate  there is a lot of themes to choose from , many skits and situations , from being in school to being out ate the lounge or in the streets or even at the house. That is why I think that this website is so unique and efficient .That is why  decided to rate it a 5 because it really does help you in creating a situation where things are just simpler to use.It will be a understandable fun and interesting way for the 6th graders tm understandAnimoto has some themes to choose from but it really lacks , it is not as plentiful as goanimate. That is why I rated this measurement I animoto a 1, because it is not a real good choice fro me in this project, for 6th graders

Character-Since animoto is a website to make a video out of photos , it doesn't really have characters. But goanimate does has a  good quantity, but lacks in some. You have the choice of creating one of your own too. If you want you can buy them, goanimate charges for any addition characters , which I think is really not necessary to make the video interesting for the 6th graders. The characters in go animate are still a great help in making the video and making the 6th graders understand what the Design Cycle is. I think that the 6th graders will really enjoy the video  and learn at the same time. That is why I  rated it a 5 , because of the nice selection of characters.Since animoto doesn't have character choice or any characters at all , that is why I rated it a 0, because in this case it does not help me create a proactive video that will surely make 6th graders understand what the design cycle is in a fun interesting way.

Font- Since goanimate is a website to make videos for kids , it doesn't really have any text or font, only if you want to put in some dialogue , which there is only the font that they give you. That is why I rated this measurement a 0 for lacking in choices. Even though I think font in this case is not really that important, because it is a cartoon video for kids. But in animoto it does have some choices to choose from, since it is somewhat like a slideshow. That is why I rated animoto in font a 5 because they do have font choices but they are very limited. They only have about 6 or 7 fonts to choose from.

Music-Goanimte doesn't really have a music choice it has more of tones and rings and special effects noises but you can't really have music to choose from . That is why I rated it a 4 because it does have rings and tones to choose from but it doesn't really have like popular music to choose from, but it doesn't really need music , maybe rings and tones to make sounds of falling things and stuff like that since it is a video . In animoto it does have music to choose from, but you can get it from your computer. That is why I rated this part in animoto a 5. Because you can get all the music you want.

Investigation Reflection.

Today I researched what I should do , to make the 6th graders understand what the design cycle is. I found several websites on making a video with photos, but I decided to do it on animation because it would be more understandable for the 6th graders. The website that I chose to make my video is called Goanimate.com. This will help me make an animated video with cartoons on the Design Cycle  for the 6th graders. This website is great because it has a lot of different videos themes and cartoon characters it goes step by step in teaching you how to do it. I still don't have planned out what the characters' dialogue is going to be , but it surely is going to be about the Design Cycle. I'm sure this will be an efficient way for the 6th graders to understand what the Design Cycle is .

Design Folder.

Area of Interaction: Community and Service , Approaches to Learning & Human Ingenuity
Significant Concept: Design Cycle can be used to solve problems
Unit Question: How can my learning help my community? How do I make Sound Choices?
INVESTIGATE: (Write in complete sentences) Identify the Problem
1.    What is the problem you need to solve?
Teach a 6th grader  exactly what the design cycle is all about.
2.    How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world?
It gets you organized and more prepared.
3.    How will this project serve my community?
This project will help the community by teaching everybody something new and teaching us the steps of doing a project.
4.    How can my learning help my community?
My learning helps the community by me teaching something to someone and someone teaching it to someone else.
5.    How do we live in relation to each other?
I think we have a good relationship with all the other grades.
6.    How does this help others?
This helps us learn from each other.

7.    What are the requirements for this assignment?
To do our work properly .
8. What is the Design Cycle?
The design cycle are some steps to getting more organized , they are : investigate, plan, create, evaluate.
REFLECT on your learning.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle:
It is a good way to learn new things, it really does help you ,and it makes it more efficient  to work.
Day 3
Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
I am going to make a poster or maybe a video  about the design section explaining the important parts and the key points,  so that the 6th graders will understand
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your presentation?
REFLECT ON YOUR LEARNING
PLAN:
14. Brainstorm ideas. Use the chart below
IB Brainstorming Chart .pdf found in schoology under “materials”& then files
15. What idea did you choose to demonstrate the design cycle and why did you choose it?
16. Does your idea meet all of the requirements?
17. Use the story board paper below to plan your presentation.  Include how many levels you will have, what will be on each level, how will you include teaching skills to young students, and what will your questions be about.
story board.pdf found in schoology under “materials” & then files.
18. Explain how you will use your time to get your project finished in 12 days:
REFLECT on your learning
EVALUATE:
20. How could you improve your presentation?
21. Does your presentation meet all of the requirements?
22. Share your presentation with at least 2-8th, 3-9th, 4-10th+ friends. What did he/she like about your presentation?
23. Reflect on all the steps of the Design Cycle. What did you do well? What do you need to improve?
24. Were you responsible in using the software, Internet, pictures, and computer?
25. How can my learning help my community?
26. What grade do you deserve on this project? (1 - 6)

ATTITUDE:
27. Reflect on your attitude on each step of the Design Cycle. Did you completely answer each step without complaining, being a whiny baby, or saying "it's too hard". Explain your answer:
28. What grade do you deserve on your attitude? (1 - 6)
